Meggitt modular mounting system to revolutionize vibration sensor testing

Irvine, California, USA –– Meggitt’s new pod accelerometer mounting system is such a simple idea it’s hard to believe nobody thought of it before, yet it will revolutionize vibration sensor testing. The Endevco® 46A general purpose accelerometer, available in five sensitivities from 10 to 1,000 mV/g, is threaded and can be fitted into a variety of different mounting blocks (or “pods”), with a stud or adhesive mount.

Irvine, California, USA –– Meggitt Sensing Systems was selected by Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc company, to provide gearbox oil level and chip detection monitoring systems for the new 525 Relentless commercial super-medium helicopter. Meggitt estimates that the agreements will generate gross sales of more than $30 million over the production life of this helicopter, including original equipment, spares and repairs.

Firefly AB has today, 14 June 2013, signed an agreement with Meggitt Inc., USA, to purchase the Omniguard® flame detector series. With this purchase, Firefly takes over product ownership, development, production, sales and after sales of Omniguard® flame detectors. Firefly will start to deliver Omniguard® flame detectors from the 1st of July 2013.

Meggitt, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and sub-systems for aerospace, defence and energy, has been selected by COMAC to supply the Engine Interface Control Unit (EICU) for its C919 aircraft family. The win follows two years of close collaboration during a definition phase between COMAC and Meggitt Sensing Systems, a Meggitt division and leading supplier of advanced condition monitoring, vibration and sensing systems.
